“I thought you didn’t get them anymore.”

Riku ran his tongue over his teeth, the sharp edges pushing into the sensitive muscle as he lightly chewed on his tongue. His eyes had long adjusted to the dim light in his room and he stared down the long shadows that ran the length of his walls while his latest nightmare replayed in his mind.

“They’re not gone just…. Lessened,” he explained, the words sounding just a bit too clumsy at the moment. Sure, a night or two he slept well, but more often than not the young keyblade master still dealt with nightmares that left him shaking well until morning.

Shifting onto his side, Riku let his phone rest lazily against his ear as he continued. “Some nights are just harder than others. That’s all.”

A grunt on the other side of the line was his response. Silence reigned for several heavy minutes and Riku started to worry if Sora had fallen back asleep. He wouldn’t have been surprised, he did call his best friend in the middle of the night and was slightly surprised to have his call answered. Sora could sleep almost through anything it felt like sometimes.

“Do you want to come share my bed? I’ll watch over you until you fall asleep. Promise.” Sora suddenly sounded more alert than he had been when called after Riku woke up from his nightmare.

A laugh trickled out, soft and airy so as not to wake anyone else in his house. No doubt his father would be upset to find him up this late. “Sora, it’s three in the morning.”

“And?” The younger teen interjected, sounded almost offended that Riku brought up the time. “You’ve snuck over later than this before.”

The teen could only hum in agreement. It was true, he and Sora were notorious for sneaking out to one another’s house to sleep over. It wouldn’t be the first time he woke up to find Sora’s mother greeting him good morning and to let him know his father was calling to tell him he was grounded.

“Come on, Riku,” Sora’s voice started to slowly rise in enthusiasm as he egged his best friend on into sneaking out to share his bed for the night. “It’s been awhile since we’ve had a sleepover afterall. And if you’re happy and having so much fun, then surely you won’t have another nightmare tonight.”

Riku laughed before catching himself and slapping his hand over his mouth to stifle the sound. He swung his legs out of bed and began rifling through his dresser for a clean pair of pants and a shirt to put on.  “Yeah, sounds good. I’ll be over in a few minutes.”

“Don’t forget a flashlight this time,” Sora reminded him.

“I won’t forget,” Riku sighed, lips tugging into a smile as he pulled on a pair of jeans. “I’ll be over in a bit though. Talk to you soon.”

“Window’s open for you.”

“Thanks, Sora.”

Sora

  • The ultimate goofball.
  • Loves to give you little kisses when you least expect it.
  • Makes you cute little gifts for no special occasion but you treasure them dearly.
  • Can easily read your emotions, so if you’re stressed, a massage and hot bath is ready and waiting.
  • Loves exciting dates, such as skydiving.

Riku

  • Not really that affectionate in public, but is affectionate at home.
  • Gives you pet names, “love” affectionately and nearly all the time, “darling” when he wants something, and “kitten” when you guys are doing the thing.
  • The ultimate caretaker if you’re sick (or if you have your period) makes you chicken soup, regularly checks your temperature, and swaddles you in blankets. Sadly, he ends up getting sick himself.
  • If you have your period, he’ll rub your stomach, buy you chocolates as well as fruits, have a hot bath for you and a heating pad.
  • When he’s sleepy, he acts like a child and tries to fight it, and says he’s not getting into bed until you do.
  • He’s always down for a stay at home movie night. Snacks, soda, dimmed lights, the whole combo.
  • Sleeps easier when he’s next to you, as he feels like you’re a calming person.
  • Has his moments of self-hatred and when he does, he shuts everyone and everything out.
  • Loves to cook in general, so you’re never really hungry.
  • His main mode of transportation is a motorcycle, so get ready to hang on for dear life.
  • Likes dates such as going to the mall or visiting a museum.

Terra

  • If you search up strong and silent, his face will appear.
  • Has a cat, so bonus points.
  • Very protective of you, and despite your protests, he loves to carry you.
  • Very open to public affection and likes to kiss you when you think no one is looking.
  • Struggles with getting his thoughts across, and usually expresses his emotions through actions.
  • Very handsy at home, likes to grope you when you’re distracted.
  • Is always playing music, so the house is lively.
  • Has a bit of a jealous streak when it comes to people flirting with you.
  • Very romantic, likes romantic walks and fancy dinner dates.
  • Blunt when it comes to wanting intimacy.
  • Takes his time and likes to tease.
  • Likes slow, sensual kisses and back rubs.

Lea

  • Is always late to the destination.
  • Likes to spoil you rotten.
  • Likes to show you off when people are around.
  • Very handsy in public, and loves teasing you.
  • His favorite date is going to the bookstore. Seeing him in awe for hours staring at books always makes you smile.
  • Just calls you “babe”, but you know what he want by the tone he says it.
  • Really wants to raise a dog with you, and you have no idea why.
  • Really good at barbecuing food.
  • Always down to try new things, even if it’s out of his comfort zone.
  • Very emotional when things are serious and you two are alone.
  • He always says that he loves you, and he’s afraid of you leaving.
  • Likes hugs and when you sit on his lap.
  • Likes to be little spoon.
