I finally made references for Rapunzel AU like half a year after I posted the first art for it, yay? The reason Sora’s so motivated to get Riku out Darkness Tower Hell despite being a busy noble with Things to Do is because Riku looks suspiciously like a childhood friend he used to have before said friend moved one day without a word, so he’s immediately like LMAO MALEFICENT YOU’RE HIS MOM??? then the search begins and so on so forth they smooch, Riku get’s a haircut.

I imagine that after KH3, Sora will drag Ventus to a family dinner thing with his parents ‘cause he wants to make Ven feel like family.

So everything’s going well and Sora just being home is enough to put his parents in a good mood. And then Sora’s mother asks Ven a question like, “How long have you known Sora?”

And Ventus just says, “His whole life.”

And then dead silence engulfs the room as a confused set of parents and two teenage sword fighters prepare for an intense conversation.

Bonus points if Sora is at the end of the table aggressively shaking his head and making the ix-nay motion bc “WRONG ANSWER WRONG ANSWER”

“How long have
you known Sora, exactly?”

The question
comes, sounding a little forced, from across the table. The woman there – brown
hair, with bright green, intense eyes, the shape of which (if not the color)
are echoed by the face of the spiky brown-haired boy scarfing food like he hasn’t
eaten for weeks sitting next to her – is obviously in a good mood, but she’s
also obviously trying to adjust, just a little, and the target of her question
shifts a little uncomfortably as possible answers race through his mind.

“Ah, mom…” Sora
says, looking a little frantic. “It’s… I mean… he’s… well, we sort of met…” Sora’s
fumbling only seems to be making the woman more nervous than she was a moment
ago, and he knows that he has to find an answer soon in order to stop it.
Before he can really think about it, the answer just slips out.

“His whole life,
really,” Ven answers, almost casually, as he cuts a piece of steak and pops it
in his mouth. He feels a kick in the shin from under the table, looks up.
Realizes Sora is glaring at him… and that the worried, frowning expression he
remembers so clearly from the beginning of the meal is back on the woman’s
face. Sora, ever the expressive one, points both hands at his mom, gives Ven a
what-the-hell look, and then facepalms dramatically.

Ven’s face goes
bright red.

“His… whole life….?”
Sora’s mom asks, her face contorted strangely, like she’s caught between
raising her eyebrow and frowning intensely and trying to make sure her child
doesn’t see her weakness. Sora’s face drops into a frown, but his mother
continues, not willing to let her son’s adventures paralyze her anymore. “I..
don’t remember seeing you on the island before…”

Ven and Sora let
out the same nervous, sheepish, ‘that’s-a-funny-story-mom’ laugh at the same
time. They glance at each other, at Sora’s mother, down at the food, and back
to Sora’s mother as silence fills the room and starts to grow. Their glance
back to each other is halfway to panic.

“……………this is
really amazing steak, Miss Hana!” Ven blurts out in embarrassed panic.

The second kick
to his shin is harder and in the exact same place, and Ven thinks to himself
that this is going to be a very, very long dinner.

aqua things I wanna see in kh3

• aqua gets pulled from the RoD by sora, but she flips and thinks it’s vanitas at first
– they almost fight but kairi calms her down and makes sure she feels safe

• any kairi/aqua sisterly bond would be exactly what they both need tbh
– kairi tells aqua about how aquas magic kept her friends together during the events of kh1. aquas just glad she finally managed to save someone without it turning sour
– aqua helps kairi with key blade training, kairi helps aqua with getting back to a normal life

• aqua meets roxas, but thinks it’s ven at first. everyone’s confused.
– “ven you’re awake?” “master aqua, this is roxas. he’s sora’s nobody.” “what the hell is a nobody” “what the hell is a ven?”
– yen sid has to break out the chalkboard to explain while roxas sulks in the corner

• they into xemnas on an outing
– “terra!?” “That’s xemnas, master. He’s an evil nobody” “but aren’t they created when someone dies?” “…oh”
– xemnas and aqua both feed into each other’s cryptic-talking habits without even realizing it. nobody knows what they’re saying. the group reasons it’s because of the darkness
– they finally start connecting dots and filling in gaps in knowledge, and aqua has real hope that she’ll save her friends for the first time in a while

• on a mission with sora and roxas, they run across aquas old armor
– “hey it’s still here! but what am I gonna do with this old keyblade? I already have the master’s” “…We might have some ideas”
– square pls give me my duel-wielding spell-slinging ballet war goddess
